Prior to performing any work within the crawlspace a detailed assessment should be performed to accurately evaluate the existing conditions and identify any failed building systems.  This may include:

• A visual inspection of the entire crawlspace, foundation, and exterior grading.

• Data logging of the ambient temperature and humidity levels within the crawlspace.

• Moisture survey mapping to determine levels of moisture content in the wood floor joists and sub-flooring as well as the concrete foundation walls and piers.

• Microslide sporetrap surface sampling of suspect molds on the woods.

• Air sampling within the crawlspace and the occupied space relative to an outdoor control to determine mold growth sites.
